My Work
Book design and Graphics for 'EveryBody is a Body'
EveryBody is a Body, written by Karen A. Studd and Laura L. Cox, is a book that promotes increased awareness of the power and potential of human movement.
I created the book design and provided and created the graphics for this book, both from searches on the internet, as well as by creating new models, graphs and images.

Laban Scales for Web - web application
A web-based animation of Laban's movement scales, based on processing.js. The scales are an integrated part of Laban Movement Analysis, a method that provides us with a language and practice to observe, analyze, describe and understand human movement. This web application was inspired by the iPhone app 'Moving Space', an interactive, 3D compendium of the Laban scales.
Diagonal Scale animation
An animation of the Diagonal Scale, one of Laban's explorations of Space Harmony
Website Moving Technology
This website was my own creation, including design, programming and content, using WordPress as a base
Website LIMS®
I created the framework and the slideshow for the website of the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies (LIMS®), an international institute for the study of human movement through training programs, research as well as arts and culture events, centered in NY, USA.
How to Make Human Animation More Alive - final paper CMA Program
Nowadays, modern computer techniques make a lot more possible in animation than before. But even though nature, backgrounds, lighting and environments often look very realistic, the characters often don’t, especially not in the way they move. The movements regularly seem mechanical and disconnected, fragmented and lacking synthesis.
I believe it is movement that makes characters in animation films ‘alive’ as well as believable – or not. In this research paper, written as my final project for my CMA training, I analyze and describe in LMA terms what I think is lacking in modern character animation and what would make the characters more alive and credible, both functionally and expressively.
